Asso99, show in Brenzone: Asterisco Italian Champion, podium between Italy and Hungary

Three truly thrilling days marked the return of the Asso99 Open Italian Championship in the waters of Castelletto di Brenzone, organized by Circolo Nautico Brenzone with the support of Main Sponsor AC&E Consulting. Eighteen boats battled it out around the marks in highly variable wind conditions, ranging from the light southern breezes of the late afternoon to the strong northern Peler in the morning hours, delivering thrills and a great show to the spectators.
The title of Italian Champion 2025 goes, for the second year in a row, to ITA 105 Asterisco helmed by Pierluigi Omboni for Circolo Vela Gargnano. The silver medal was claimed by ITA 146 Diavolasso Cigisped of Andrea Farina for Circolo Nautico Brenzone, while third place went to ITA 109 Nosugar helmed by Ivano Brighenti for Acquafresca Sport Center.
A great show also came from the Overall ranking, which once again saw ITA 105 Asterisco on top, just one point ahead of HUN 127 Kulcs-Soft helmed by Arcell H’jja for the Balatonfüredi Yacht Club, and HUN 126 Equilor skippered by Lel Huber, also representing the Balatonfüredi Yacht Club.
The competition was fiercely contested, and the jury had to deal with numerous protests, always handled in an atmosphere of fairness and mutual respect, a testament to the sporting spirit that has always distinguished the Asso99 Class.
The Championship was not only about racing: on Saturday evening a big party took place, a convivial moment that brought together crews, enthusiasts and guests in an atmosphere of friendship and fun.
There will be no rest for the Asso99 crews: the next event is already set for the following weekend with the historic Centomiglia Internazionale del Garda, which has already gathered more than eighty registered boats. Finally, at the beginning of October, the Class will take center stage at the European Championship on Lake Chiemsee in Bavaria, another highlight of an intense and thrilling season.
