Trofeo Luca Avesani, an exiting regatta!

The Luca Avesani Trophy, a much-anticipated event in the sailing community of Lake Garda, saw the participation of six Asso99 boats, adding a touch of excitement and competition to the already lively waters of our beloved location.

Among the participants, the presence of the "Doge of Garda" Albino Fravezzi certainly added prestige to the competition, skillfully leading a boat of new students, while Prince Ludwig of Bavaria brought a crew from Germany, despite problems with his own boat that forced him to rent a local one.

Saturday's weather, characterized by weak winds, allowed only one attempt at racing, which was later canceled due to insufficient conditions to continue. Everything was postponed to Sunday, where the first race took place with light north winds, with a shortened course due to the lack of wind at the end of the second leg.

A long-awaited southern breeze appeared after a few hours, but the wind then shifted to the west, putting the sailing committee of the Circolo Nautico Brenzone to the test. Despite the challenges, they managed to hold all three races scheduled for the day.

The three races were fiercely contested, with constant changes in position and crews fighting for every advantage until the last stretch to the finish line. In the end, the crew ITA 146 "Diavolasso," led by Andrea Farina of the Circolo Nautico Brenzone, took the lead by a narrow margin, followed by ITA 113 "Vetrocar," with Ivano Brighenti from the Acquafresca Sport Center at the helm, while third place went to ITA 105 "Assterisco," with Matteo Giovanelli from the Circolo Vela Gargnano.

Now, only two weeks separate us from the Gentlemen's Cup at the Circolo Vela Gargnano, the second leg of the Asso99 circuit. Our crews are already gearing up to fight for every position in the championship standings, promising another day of thrilling competition and exciting lake challenges.
